IT'S NICE THAT - SELF IDENTITY
Danny Lowe is a photographer from North Yorkshire and he's known for being a studio and location photographer.
Danny has done many collections and shot for magazines such as Rain Magazine and Exit Magazine.
In this particular collection Danny focuses on identity, it's named 'Its Nice That' and looks at capturing male models in monotone edits.
Danny Lowe captures the models portraits in such definition that the images are very figurative this allowing the image to feel very true and naked in the sense of the images being represented very realistically.
This is very refreshing for editorial photography due to lots of images seen on social media platforms or magazines are very heavily photoshopped and the realistic aspect of photography is lost for the audience.
Immediately we see that Danny has created very impactful composition throughout the collection, all 9 images in the collection have a slightly different composition.
The models are demonstrated to have a powerful status in the images, the bottom left image shows this as the model is taking up the majority of the screen with his face demonstrating that he is the main focus and the focal point of the image. The model's face fills the image but the models facial features are very symmetrical and are purposefully placed to be evenly distributed, this demonstrates Danny's use of rule of thirds as the models facial features fit this grid.
All models are photographed from a close up shot, the shot used is one of the only continuous themes seen throughout the collection,
